Guests are welcome to explore the farm and its footpaths, meet our animals or picnic by the lovely Caw Burn as it winds its way through our land. Walking itineraries and maps are provided.

Longsyke Farm is an environmentally aware, low carbon farm and The Goose Barn is run in accordance with these principles. Domestic water is pumped from a pure aquifer via a borehole 50m below ground; it is then filtered before entering the barn. Hot water and underfloor heating are powered by a highly efficient solar/oil twin coil boiler and we encourage our guest to recycle and compost wherever possible: facilities to assist this green approach are provided.

Enjoy ready meals with a difference from our farmhouse kitchen: if you don't feel like cooking, pre-prepared dishes made with meat from our Dexter cows, lamb from our Jacob cross sheep and seasonal vegetables from our garden can be provided for guests; or, if you prefer to do your own cooking, simply order the ingredients: either way, we will be happy to assist you.

The North Pennine Cycleway passes our gate and - keen cyclists ourselves - we are cycle friendly. We can provide a bike maintenance/ repair service for guests as well as a qualified bike guiding service if desired. Secure storage and an outside hose are provided.

Patio furniture for four people and a barbecue are provided. First basket of logs and kindling are complimentary. A selection of toys/books for small children can be provided on request.

A welcome pack of wine, fresh eggs and cake for guests on arrival.
